Golden Age Origin[]
Jack Winstead was ace reporter for the Evening Globe. Jack's inventor father, Dr. Winstead, was murdered. However, Dr. Winstead had just completed the invention of a "phantom cloak." This cloak gave Jack the ability to turn invisible. He decided to become the Scarlet Phantom and avenge his father's death by fighting crime.
